If Skynyrd, ZZ TOP and Pantera had a baby… That would be HELLSOUTH! HELLSOUTH is Texas to the bone and wears that fact proudly! All if the 5 members hail from the greater Houston area and their Lead guitarist Cowboy Dave is also a radio personality in Houston for CBS radio! The first incarnation of HELLSOUTH came in 1999 when Cowboy Dave decided that the Texas rock and metal scene needed a little BBQ sauce poured all over it! He enlisted Jack Lee on bass and held a revolving door of musicians that were too small minded to accomplish the sound Dave was creating! They felt that a Metal band had no business throwing in Texas blues and lyrics about Texas life and that southern feel… Finally in 2009… He got his wish of Colby Reeves on drums, who is held high and regarded as one of the best drummers in Texas! With the addition of Colby, Colby brought in Matthew Flores on bass as Jack Lee pursued other interests and Matt was a perfect fit and brought that low groove they needed. John Randolph soon followed on rhythm guitar to round out the solid back end! Finally… Eli Morris became the mouth piece of the band, his range, aggression, Texas attitude and just flat out killer vocals and lyrics have been leading the charge! HELLSOUTH and members of HELLSOUTH have shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ TOP, Phil Anselmo of Pantera, Brandon Rhyder, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Godsmack, Texas Hippie Coalition and many more!
